Dr. Umobi has a clinical practice experience that spans 3 continents and 17 years. He obtained
his medical degree from the University of Nigeria at the age of 21 years. Following a year of
internship, He managed a 32 bed rural hospital in Nigeria, as part of his National Service.
He then proceeded to the UK, where he completed 4 years of OBGYN residency training, passed
the exams and became a member of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists,
London. He subsequently worked in the National Health Service until 2003 when he relocated to
the USA for family reasons.
He endured another 4 years of mandatory residency training, passed the Board exam and became
Board certified by the American Board of OBGYN. He was the Administrative Chief Resident at
Crozer-Chester Medical Center, and was a member of the hospital’s Educational Committee. He won
the Philadelphia Obstetrical Soceity’s “residents’ bowl”, making him the best ObGyn resident
physician in the Philadelphia area, Delaware and Southern New Jersey.
He has been practicing in the Dover area since completing his residency in June 2007. His new
practice was opened on 12/1/09.
